Title: New approaches in End-To-End Payload Testing

Abstract:

The use of vector signal generators and vector signal analyzers for measuring digital signal impairments is standard in wireless communications and is being adopted for various communication links for satellite. This presentation focuses on the use of Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) and Bit Error Rate (BER) as parameters to quantify various impairments of a satellite‘s payload.

Biography:

Yassen Mikhailov is the Aerospace and Defence Market Segment Manager responsible for the Rohde & Schwarz A&D Test and Measurement Market in Europe. He holds a BS in Systems Engineering from the US Naval Academy and a MS in Telecommunications from the University of Maryland. With over 16 years of experience as an RF engineer Mikhailov has held different engineering and management positions at ARINC, Rohde and Schwarz.
