Title: Space - the Final Frontier for Global Connectivity

Abstract:

Enabling the technologies behind “The Internet of Space”, Private Investment, “Moore’s Law”, Phased Array Antenna, Lower Launch Costs, Additive Manufacturing and Modular (Plug-and-Play) have all converged to drive rapid change in how space will be utilized.  The fundamental approach to developing the electronics components and systems utilized in the space infrastructure must also change in order to achieve the ambitious program goals.

A key part of the solution involves moving from a product focused to a process focused development.  This seemingly simple shift in approach has been a success factor in many other technologies.  This presentation will discuss where test costs reside and how moving satellite builds from a single event towards a process focused enterprise on multiple satellites can realize time and money savings throughout the design, build and verification stages.
