Welcome Reception

All registered conference delegates from EuMC 2012, EuRAD 2012 and EuMIC 2012, as well as representatives from companies participating in the exhibition are invited to the EuMW 2012 Welcome Reception, sponsored by Agilent Technologies, Horizon House Publications and EuMA.
Delegates will need to bring their badge with them to be scanned to gain entrance to the reception.
The evening will begin with seated cocktails in the first floor restaurant and lounge (at the entrance to Elicium) 18.30. There will then be addresses from the Chairman of EuMW 2012, Amsterdam handing over to the Chairman of EuMW 2013, Nuremberg. Following this will be an address from the EuMW 2012 Platinum Sponsor, Agilent Technologies. The self service 3 course buffet will start at 19.00.

Panoramic sightseeing tour of Amsterdam including private boat tour

Duration: approximately 4 hours
A mostly panoramic tour through the historic center of Amsterdam, passing along the Amstel River with the wooden skinny bridge, the Munt tower and floating flower market, Dam Square with the Royal Palace and the New Church, central station and the museum and antique quarters. Pass through the oldest part of Amsterdam called “the Jordaen” with quaint little streets.
We will see Amsterdam from the water during a canal cruise of one hour in a private boat. While gliding through the old center of the city and into its harbour, you see merchant’s mansions, churches and warehouses dating from the 17th century.

Amsterdam home and garden tour

Discover the hidden treasures behind the facades of impressive houses. Guided walking tour of 3 hours with a professional garden designer or art historian. We start in a beautiful 17th century canal house with the magnificent neo- Louis XVI ballroom, dining room, 18th century garden room and kitchen. We also visit the formal French garden at the back of the house with the box 'parterres de broderie'.
Included in each tour are visits to a range of gardens and coach houses in 'the Golden Bend' the most exclusive part of the Herengracht. Coffee with a syrup waffle will be served in the kitchen of the Geelvinck Hinlopen private home.

Dutch Beer and trendy Amsterdam

Guided tour through one of the trendiest parts of Amsterdam. Different types of restaurants, bars, exotic shops and of course all special places of this typical Dutch neighbourhood will be shown to you by our local guide. This tour is including a stop in one of the bars along the Albert Cuypmarket and free time to stroll along the Albert Cuypmarket. End of the guided tour through the Pijp at the Heineken Experience.
Heineken Experience In your tour you'll walk through malt silos, take a peek inside the mash coppers and stand in the lager cellars where young beer was once matured. In the Heineken Experience the malt silo in the authentic brew house with its original brewing vessels you can enjoy a refreshing glass of Heineken beer in the Brew house Bar. You then walk through the cellars. These enormous tanks used to mature the young, green beer. Now, in the Heineken Experience, they take you on a voyage of discovery through the World of Heineken. The experience ends in the “See You Again Bar”.
The former Heineken brewery is a National Monument and is listed as an anchor point along the European Route of Industrial Heritage. After the Heineken Experience opened its doors in 2001, the attraction developed itself into one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Dutch capital.

De ZaanseSchans and Edam

We will start this tour with a small drive to the windmill village of the Zaanseschans, a characteristic living and working area on the River Zaan, with wooden houses and windmills dating from the seventeenth and eighteenth century. In museums, workshops and windmills you can experience something of how the Zaan-siders lived and worked. The ZaanseSchans is a fully inhabited, open-air conservation area and museum located 9 miles north of Amsterdam.
Original buildings vividly depict Dutch life in the 17th and 18th centuries. The authentic houses, the historic shipyard, the clog-making demonstrations and, above all, the windmills, attract hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Before returning to Amsterdam, we will visit the medieval town of Edam.

Chocolate workshop

In our chocolate workshop we only use the best quality fair trade chocolate. Familiar yourself with different techniques and decoration styles. All stuffed with the most delicious fillings, naturally also home made. We’ll start of with a short master class covering most techniques and tricks. Then it’s time to get creative with chocolate yourself.
We finish the workshop with a cup of coffee/tea to enjoy your home made produce. Naturally any chocolates left over are yours to take home.
