All registered conference delegates from EuMC 2011, EuRAD 2011 and EuMIC 2011, as well as representatives from companies participating in the exhibition are invited to the EuMW2011 Welcome Reception, sponsored by Agilent Technologies, Horizon House Publications and EuMA.

Delegates will need to bring their badge with them to be scanned to gain entrance to the reception.

The evening will begin with seated cocktails in Exchange Hall at 18.30. There will then be addresses from the Chairman of EuMW2011, UK handing over to the Chairman of EuMW2012, Amsterdam. Following this will be an address from the EuMW2011 Platinum Sponsor, Agilent Technologies. The self service 3 course buffet will start at 19.00.

Monday 10th October 2011

LAKE DISTRICT
Cost: £30.00 per person (Minimum 25 persons)
Duration: Full Day – meet at Manchester Central at 9.30am
On this full day coach tour we visit the stunning southern Lakes. Find out about the history, countryside, culture and traditions of this beautiful part of the country. Learn how writers were attracted to the area, and how tourism started here. Stops will be made for Refreshments and Comfort Breaks.

DISCOVER MANCHESTER INTRODUCTORY WALK
Cost: £10.00 per person (Minimum 10 persons)
Duration: 1.5 hours – meet at Manchester Central at 2pm
Discover the stories and secrets behind the history, contemporary life and culture of our fascinating and dynamic city centre. Visit art galleries, theatres, new attractions, and discover places you’ve never been to! TRAFFORD PARK COACH TOUR
Cost: £17.50 per person
(Minimum 25 persons)
Duration: 2 hours – meet at Manchester Central at 10am
Find out about this fascinating area right on our door step! Once a stately home and park belonging to the de Trafford family, this area saw a rapid transformation into the world’s first industrial park in the 19th century. We drive through and learn about its history andthe global industries here today.

SALFORD QUAYS COACH TOUR
Cost £17.50 per person (Minimum 25 persons)
Duration: 2 hours – meet at Manchester Central at 2pm
We visit the Salford Quays area, and see how the former docklands have regenerated into a place to live, work and visit.

HYDES BREWERY
Cost: £29.00 per person (Maximum 25 persons)

Hydes invites you to visit the historic brewery and sample a range of great tasting beers direct from the Manchester Brewer. Brewery tours commence at 7.30pm when your guide for the evening will meet you on arrival. After being escorted to the Brewery bar, you’ll be given a brief guide to the history of Hydes whilst enjoying your first complimentary drink of the evening.

The tour of the brewery lasts between 30 and 45 minutes and with last orders not until 9:45pm, you’re left with plenty of time to become acquainted with a few more of the extensive range of beers. The cost includes the tour, transport, buffet supper plus 4 complimentary pints in the bar. Additional drinks may be purchased at £1 per pint. Please note: Hydes Brewery is primarily a production facility; they cannot cater for wheelchair users or persons with limited mobility due to the structure of the building and the layout of the Victorian listed brewery.

Also, please be aware that like any licensed premises, they are governed by current legislation which states that customers must not be intoxicated on arrival, and in such cases will be refused entry on to the site.

CHATSWORTH HOUSE AND THE PEAK DISTRICT
Cost £40.00 per person (Minimum 25 persons)
Duration: Full Day – meet at Manchester Central at 9.30am
This full day coach tour takes us through the beautiful Peak District where we will see the changing countryside, and learn about the history, customs and modern day life of this area. We stop at a the stately Chatsworth for a guided tour of the premises and gardens, before continuing onto the charming market town of Leek.

MANCHESTER TOWN HALL
Cost £10.00 per person (Minimum 10 persons)
Duration: 1.5 hours – meet at Manchester Central at 2pm
"Truly a municipal palace…. there is nothing like it….in any part of Europe" (1877) Even today people still think this stunning building is a cathedral on seeing it for the fi rst time. Come to look at the 13th century gothic style, the paintings, furniture and décor, which all have their own story to tell about Manchester. (Access to state rooms subject to their availability)

CHINATOWN ON FOOT

Manchester’s Chinese community is well established into city life. On this tour learn about the community’s origins, and about how people live, work and enjoy leisure time nowadays. We visit a supermarket, bakery and gift shop so there is an opportunity to
enjoy genuine Chinese wares!

CANALS UNDER THE CITY STREETS
Cost: £10.00 per person (Minimum 10 persons)
Duration: 1.5 -2 hours – meet at Manchester Central at 2pm
Walk from the 18th to the 21st century and rediscover Manchester from a different angle under some of the city’s major roads. Learn how use of the waterways has changed from industry to leisure. But more than this, see how the canals are now an integral part of modern Manchester life.

OLD TRAFFORD – GALA DINNER AND TOUR
Cost: £60.00 per person (Minimum 35 persons)
