EuMW2010 Welcome Reception

All registered conference delegates from EuMC 2010, EuWIT 2010, EuRAD 2010 and EuMIC 2010, as well as representatives from companies participating in the exhibition are invited to the EuMW 2010 Welcome Reception Buffet, sponsored by Agilent Technologies, Horizon House Publications and EuMA.

The evening will begin with a Cocktail Reception at 18:30 at the entrance to Brillat Savarin Banquet Hall on Level B of CNIT. Guests will then be invited into Brillat Savarin Hall where they will be addressed by the Platinum Sponsor, Agilent Technologies and served a French / Italian buffet from 19:00. The evening will end at 21:30.

Paris was created some 2000 years ago and began at the Cité Island (Ile de la Cité). With emphasis on the history and art of the Capital, this tour includes a drive through the oldest part: First, you will admire the geometric design of Vendome Square and the fantasy of the old Opera House. Then, the Marais district and its « hotels », private townhouses of the nobility of the 17th and 18th centuries. Your bus will cross the Latin Quarter with its old university (the Sorbonne), the Luxembourg Gardens, Saint Germain des Prés with its romanesque church and its famous cafés, and will drop you near the Orsay Museum to take the boat for a short transfer to approach the Cité Island (forbidden to buses). Claude Monet spent the last 43 years of his life in Giverny. Since 1966 the property belongs to the Fine Arts Academy: the pink house has once again found its colourful décor and original charm together with its priceless collection of Japanese prints. The studio and gardens have been faithfully reconstructed: in front of the house, Le Clos Normand -the wonderful fl ower garden divided in narrow footpaths- leads down to the water garden with its Japanese bridge and water-lilies that so inspired the impressionist artist. Versailles, vast palace, built for Louis XIV to symbolize his power and the infl uence of France, bears witness to the luxurious court and the artistic genius of the 17th and the 18th centuries. Whether it is the gilt and marbles of the King's apartments, the silks of Marie- Antoinette's bedroom, or the impeccable design of Le Nétre's gardens, you will feel you are entering a dreamworld where the history of France was written for more than a hundred years, just before the French Revolution.
